German Postal System

The other day I was walking down the street when a man wearing yellow road a yellow bike past me. He stopped a few doors ahead of me and I noticed he had boxes attached all over his bike and a large double kick stand that he set in place to hold his bike upright. At that point I noticed the logo. He was the German postman!

In three months here I’ve not seen one postal vehicle larger than a bicycle. I ask a local German about this and was told that postal cars do exist, but they are only used to transport large amounts of mail to the location where the postmen on bike or on foot deliver it to the recipient. I think it’s awesome!
