Review: Malaysia KKKL Bus Company

Two thumbs down! Poor Service!

KKKLI feel I’m a very patient person; it takes a lot to annoy me. We bought our bus ticket in Kala Lumpur to Butterworth for the 1:00pm bus on platform 13. No problem. We were down at the platform 10 minutes early and saw a bus sitting there. Unfortunately it wasn’t our bus, but that of another company. We were told our bus was still coming, so we waited. We waited for about 30 minutes and watched the bus that had been there pull away. Again we were told our bus was coming. It was now 1:30pm. A young Indian man showed up and asked us if we were waiting for the KKKL Butterworth bus to which we answered, “yes.” He said, “my ticket says it should be here at 1:15pm.” We were puzzled and looked at his ticket. It had the same bus number, same platform, but a different time on it. He was a bit confused about it and wandered off to wait in a cooler area across the bus terminal but in sight of the platform. Ten minutes later a lady showed up. She said she had a ticket for our same bus for 1:00pm. She was a bit out of breath and sweating because they had told her the bus was waiting for her at the platform. But when she saw there was no bus, she was a bit angry. She commented, “I don’t like it when they lie to me. This is the fourth time they have done this to me and I should have known better.” Four times? why would anyone give this company business after being lied to four times? Finally after an hour of waiting it was almost 2:00pm. All of us decided to give up, ask for a refund, and buy tickets with another bus company Konsortium at 2:30pm. When I got back to the platform area the KKKL bus had finally arrived, one hour and 10 minutes behind schedule. We moved our gear over to the Konsordium platform where our bus arrived five minutes ahead of schedule and departed at 2:35pm. My personal advice is to avoid KKKL buses and support companies who are truthful with customers and arrive close to the designated time rather than selling you tickets when buses are far behind schedule.
