Rabbit Stew, Fireworks and Christmas
Last night I had rabbit stew for dinner; it was rather interesting as I tried to figure out which parts of the rabbit I was eating. After the meal I had a pile of bones on the corner of my bowl and decided although it was tasty, it was a lot like BBQ in that it was a lot of work for only a little bit of meat but I was glad I tried it! Outside the window next to our table was a group of about 40 children playing Christmas songs. We ate our meal to tunes like Frosty the Snowman, Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer and a few odd songs like Beauty and the Beast. It was quite enchanting when combined with amusing stories of of our eclectic group. Afterwards we wondered the streets watching street performers with amazing fireworks creations. One fellow had made a rack that he carried hunched over on his back on which was mounted about 20 different kinds of fireworks from sparklers to roman candles. He ran up and down the street while fireworks hissed and spewed fire from the contraption on his back. In the central park of the city children sang carols under an awning while luminary balloons were launched. In between songs huge fireworks were launched from the middle of the square. The launcher was incredibly loud as each shell was shot into the air. It was quite a magical experience!
