Swimming with Dolphins in Utila Honduras

This last sunday just after we were finishing my fifth dive in Utila, we pulled up anchor and started pulling away when someone spotted dolphins approaching the boat. The captain immediately shut off the engine while everyone donned snorkel gear and jumped in the water. The school of dolphins swam right to us and for the next 15 minutes we were in heaven. The dolphins were friendly and played with us. Although they never actually let us touch them, they swam less than a foot away in circles around us and waved fins and bobbed heads. It was clear they were playing and enjoyed the interaction. I think they were as fascinated with humans wearing strange diving gear as we were by their playing with us. I have videos of the whole experience which were taken by another diver. It was the highlight of my trip!
