Review: Rooster and Moon Coffee Pub
I’m a big fan of WiFi Coffee shops. There are several key factors I look for in my coffee shops, and for the most part, Rooster and Moon comes through with flying colors. It must have made an impression, because since discovering the place almost a week ago, I’ve been back every single day. I’ve also brought in at least five of my friends. Hopefully this little gem manages to grow and stay in business, because they definitely are doing many things right.
I love a coffee shop with stable WiFi. I absolutely hate places where WiFi drops out, especially in situations where you typed a 700 word blog and click the ’submit’ button only to find WiFi dropped out and all your work is lost. Believe me, this has happened more than once. I also look for places where I don’t have to pay for parking and it is relatively easy to get to. I absolutely must have enough table space to setup my laptop with a mouse and have a cup of coffee next to it. Bonus points are given when I can set up a non-digital notepad next to me for writing notes. I want to be able to find seating near a power plug and prefer a spot with my back to the wall. It’s just nice to look out on the room and see who is walking in the door. Little distractions are nice to help reset my creative processes.

Why This Coffee Shop Rocks
In a nut shell, I was absolutely blown away when the employee behind the counter showed up at my table out in the main floor at the coffee shop offering to fill my coffee cup as well as offering me cream and a spoon. What the heck? Even Starbucks doesn’t do that! I’m more than impressed. I felt compelled to leave a tip at the table like an old style diner! Cudo to the owner for taking that small extra step in making a real impression on a customer.
Areas for Improvement
Now for the negative stuff. As of this writing, Rooster and Moon has only been open for a few months. So, there should be a lot of forgiveness for the current faults of this coffee shop. The owner is still working on acoustics and the audio system. A few times the music has been loud enough I became horse trying to have a business meeting. I ask them to lower the volume which helped a lot. However, the concrete floors and hard surface walls create a lot of echos. The owner is well aware of both issues and addressing them. There are no paper ‘menus’; prices for coffee type drinks are on a large sign behind the counter and three large posters near the register have a list of food items. Most items listed have prices, but some don’t which means it is slightly awkward asking how much things are from the breakfast menu.
Conclusion
This is my new favorite coffee shop. I plan on coming here on a regular basis. I also plan on holding most of my future business meetings here. Outside of the acoustics, this coffee shop has everything I’m looking for… well, short of being closer to my house!
