Utila Island Honduras

While in Copan Honduras several people told me I should visit the Bay Islands before leaving Honduras. A few days on an island sounded like it would be a nice change, so I decided to go check it out. My original plan was to visit the island of Roatan, mostly just because I had at least heard of it as a tourist destination and it was the biggest of the islands. However, while traveling on a bus from San Pedro Sula to La Ceiba I talked to three different tourists who were all headed to the nearby smaller island of Utila. They all told me Utila was a better destination because it wasn’t flooded with cruise ships, it was cheaper, and had great scuba diving. The cost to get to the island was about the same, so I decided to visit Utila instead of Roatan.
